Register for a panel discussion Building innovation ecosystems in Central and Eastern Europe: Sharing knowledge

Network4Growth

Project description

The project tackles moderate innovation performance, poor internationalisation of R&D and lack of knowledge sharing and cross-border cooperation in technology transfer in V4, Armenia and Georgia. It aims to strengthen collaboration and exchange of experience through network of professionals, series of events and an online innovation map. International network of professionals will bring together perspectives from academia, business and state administration. The events and innovation map will showcase scientific excellence and innovation ecosystems of all 6 countries involved.

4 pillars

Internationalisation and building long-lasting cross-border partnerships for future cooperation:

We will build a network of professionals across region who come from academia, business and state institutions and have strong links to innovations which will create a basis for future partnerships. International consortia needed for large funding programmes often require partners from academia and private sector from several countries.

Exchange of knowledge, highlighting scientific excellence and sharing best practice in R&D, and technology transfer across region:

There is a scientific excellence available in V4, Armenia and Georgia, which can be used by various stakeholders in all 6 countries. There are also good practice examples of local development based on R&D and innovations which can be source of inspiration and transferred to other regions. We want to share information about resources and success stories through network of professionals, events and the innovation map.

Promoting the innovation and R&D potential of Armenia and Georgia in V4:

R&D landscape and potential in Armenia and Georgia is unknown to professional audience in V4. The project will highlight excellence and opportunities in these 2 countries through events and profiles on innovation map.

Building capacities for technology transfer in Armenia and Georgia:

Armenia and Georgia can utilise V4's know-how in technology transfer and enhance their own technology transfer capacity. This will happen through participation in network of professionals, events and a study visit.

Online events

What are online events about?

A series of online events will highlight scientific excellence, best practices in R&D and technology transfer and share success stories of local innovation ecosystems in each of the 6 countries involved in the project.

General goal of the events is to encourage internationalisation of technology transfer through knowledge sharing across region, better understanding of local context and of available resources.

At each event 3 experts coming from different fields will share their perspective (e.g. from business, academia, government) and introduce R&D landscape and innovation potential of their respective country.

The events will focus following topics: excellent research infrastructure, R&D and innovation centres, state incentives for technology transfer, innovation and start-up ecosystem, success stories of academia-private sector partnerships, best practice examples of local development based on innovations and entrepreneurial spirit.

What will you get out of the participation?

When joining online events you will:

  • Learn about scientific excellence, innovation ecosystem, best practice and success stories in R&D and technology transfer in countries involved in the project
  • Understand different perspectives and needs of all actors involved in technology transfer (academia, business, public institutions and intermediaries)
  • Learn about the potential for technology transfer in respective countries
  • Be inspired by success stories
  • Get opportunity to expand your professional network
